“My work has always been about fulfilling my duty as a human and our purpose of living through creating. I have, from the beginning of my artistic career, had this belief that our purpose here in life is to create, whatever that may be to someone. For me, I’ve taken the more direct route in exploring what it means to be an artist of today. My work is an extension of my current spirituality and prior religious background.”

“Genesis is an interdisciplinary artist from South Elgin, Illinois. Currently, they are studying at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a focus on the institutions of creation and religion, using their own spiritualism and place in the Chicago DIY scene for bases of their work.”
